Congratulations Brent Malolo for being selected as our 2022 / 2023 member of the Year
Brent has been employed by the postal service since February 6, 1993, and a career employee since January 6, 1996.
Brent has not only shown amazing dedication to his craft but also to his Samoan heritage. He actively participated in the teachings of the Samoan rituals and culture.
On February 16, 2023, Mayer John Giles of Mesa Arizona in-acted into law “South Pacific Island Day” to be on March 3, 2023, and every year after. The proclamation was written and submitted by our rural carrier, Brent Malolo.
Most recently, Brent was a part of the Arizona Aloha Festival held at Tempe Town Lake where he gave a presentation and sang with the Samoan men’s choir. By doing this, he engages the populous through a plethora of cultural presentation, education, and traditional folklore, and embracing racial, social, and economic diversity. During our current times, this is the type of teaching that brings us together as a community.
Throughout the years, Brent would complete his assigned duties as a rural carrier, go to the airport, and fly to Las Vegas to perform Samoan rituals. He would then return home and still give 100% the following day to his craft on very little sleep.
Mr. Malolo is a kind and humble person and has dedicated his life to the Rural Craft. He has also given his personal time to enrich others in the history and rich cultures of the Pacific Islands and how they continue to enrich the lives of Arizona citizens.
Brent deserves to be recognized for his many accomplishments and years as a Rural Carrier. He plays an integral part in healing racial diversity in his community and educating others in the history of the Samoan culture. His kind heart and dedication have enhanced many people’s lives throughout the years.
